The 14-year-old Stratford native took the lead with 20 laps left in the Flip Merwin Memorial earlier this month and held on for his first Super Late Model win at State Park, and just his second in the stock car class in his two-year career.

Kraus will be looking for a repeat performance in the Marathon County Tavern League 60, the feature race this week. Qualifying heats begin at 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.

Kraus, who finished fifth in the feature race at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill., last week, held off Dalton Zehr for the win in the Fllp Merwin Memorial. Zehr sits in second place in the Super Late Model points race, 14 points behind leader Natalie Decker.

Decker was involved in a four-car wreck just six laps into the feature and did not finish the race.

Super Late Models is one of four closely contested divisions, including in Pure Stocks where 10 points separate the the top three drivers.

Mike Merriam finished second in the feature race two weeks ago and leads Travis Volm by three points. Nickolas Erickson, who won the feature, is in third, just 10 points behind Merriam.

Jerry Brickner finished second in the Limited Late Models feature earlier this month and closed to within 10 points of division leader Lyle Nowak.
