New, renovated businesses pop up around Wausau
WAUSAU - Construction crews have been busy this summer, building and renovating properties for Wausau and Rib Mountain businesses.
A new Ministry Health Care clinic looms over U.S. 51 and the Wisconsin River valley from Wausau's west side. Dick's Sporting Goods has replaced a truck stop in Rib Mountain and is now open.
Other projects are still in the works, including an apartment building in the old Stahmer clinic off Stewart Avenue in Wausau and the forthcoming Hilton Garden Inn in Rib Mountain. Wausau on the Water's new building on the river is taking shape to house a future laser-tag arena, restaurant and arcade.
USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin checked in on these projects and others. See our photo gallery for ongoing projects and new facades in the Wausau area.
