West sprinter leads local track honor roll

WAUSAU - Wausau West's Brooke Jaworski has the fasted time in the state this year in the girls 400 meters.

The Warriors sophomore, who won the WIAA Division 1 state title in the event last June, recorded a time of 54.49 in the middle of March, which is the fastest time across all three divisions of competition this spring.

Jaworski's performance is among the highlights of the local boys and girls track honor roll, taken from times and distances compiled by wisconsintrackonline.com.

Jaworski also has the fifth-fastest time in the girls 200 in the state (25.50).and the fourth-best performance in the long jump (18 feet, 4.5 inches).

Edgar senior Macey Wirkus ranks seventh in the state in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.77.

Spencer's Noah Zastrow has the top Division 3 performance in the boys pole vault. Zastrow finished second in the event in the WIAA state track meet last June and cleared 13-6 this season which ties him five other athletes for the fourth-best performance across the state this spring.
