WESTON - Three local athletes all won two events in the boys competition during a WIAA Division 1 track meet at D.C. Everest on Thursday.

Wausau East’s Jovan Parks was first in the 100 and 200 meters, D.C. Everest’s Zach Mueller won the shot put and discus, and Wisconsin Rapids’ Isaiah Westfall was first in the long jump and triple jump.

Wausau West’s Brooke Jaworski won the 200 and 400 in the girls meet, setting a state record in the latter event in 53.80 seconds. The time eclipsed her mark of 54.33 she set in winning the state title last year in La Crosse. Jaworski also ran the anchor leg of the Warriors 1,600 relay team which finished first as well.

SPASH won the boys meet team title Hudson was first in the girls meet.

MEDFORD - Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Maddy Pietz won the girls 200 and 400 meters and anchored the winning 1,600 relay as the Chargers won the team title .

Medford’s Osy Ekwueme won the boys long jump.

Division 3 Colfax Sectional

COLFAX - Abbotsford’s Brock Halopka and Franny Gamillo qualified for the state meet in an individual event and as part of the 400 relay.

Halopka also advanced in the 100 dash with a time of 11.61, while Gamillo earned his way to La Crosse in the long jump (20-6 3/4).

Ezra Kremsreiter will represent the Falcons in a pair of individual events with third-place showings in the 110 hurdles (16.24) and the high jump (6-1).

Athens’ Joshua Langteau also earned the right to compete at state in a pair of individual events. He grabbed a runner-up finish in the 1,600 (4:31.13) and placed third in the 800 (2:01.83).

Rosholt Sectional

ROSHOLT - Newman Catholic’s Julianne Barkholz had a night to remember while competing in the Division 3 Rosholt sectional, earning a trip to state in all four events she competed in. Barkholz won the 200 and 400, placed second in the 100 and took fourth in the long jump. 

The Edgar girls claimed the sectional title, earning 82 points. Marissa Ellenbecker won three individual titles while Macey Wirkus claimed two.

Spencer’s Hannah Zastrow won three individual titles while the Iola-Scandinavia duo of Leighten Fischer and Erika Kistin combined to qualify for five individual titles. 

On the boys side, Spencer’s Noah Zastrow qualified for four individual events to lead the Rockets to a second place finish.

Pacelli’s Adam Rzentkowski qualified for the 1,600 and 3,200 while Marathon’s Bryce Seubert won the shot put and discus.
