WAUSAU - Three central Wisconsin programs remain ranked in the fourth Associated Press state football poll of the season.

Edgar was the highest-ranked local program as the Wildcats (4-0) remained second in the Small Division behind St. Mary's Springs.

The Wildcats were one of two programs ranked in the Small Division for the poll which was released Tuesday afternoon. Edgar hosts Chequamegon on Friday as Jerry Sinz tries to become only the second prep football coach in the state's history with 400 wins.

Iola-Scandinavia (3-1) suffered its first loss of the season last week against Bonduel and dropped three spots in the division. The Thunderbirds are tied with Fall River and Regis for 10th in the poll.

Amherst earned a first-place vote and remained fifth in the Medium Division. The Falcons (3-1) were one of four programs to receive a first-place vote in the division after last week's top team, Waukesha Catholic Memorial, suffered a loss.

Lodi received seven of the 11 first-place votes and Notre Dame and Catholic Memorial both received first-place vote as well.

Undefeated Kimberly and St. Mary's Springs both were unanimous No. 1 teams in the Large and Small divisions, respectively.

Stratford and Colby both received votes in the Small Division and fell just outside the top 10.

Newman Catholic moved up three spots to No. 3 in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association 8-man football state poll. The Cardinals are 4-0 for the first time since 2009.
